Mending our clothes
1 Sunday - 1st March from 9am - 3pm
Learning a few basic mending techniques will allow you to extend the life of your clothes and keep them out of landfill. In this workshop we will cover a few basic techniques, including useful hand stitches, patching and basic darning. Bring along some items that have been languishing in your closet and we will put these techniques into practice so that you can proudly put them back in rotation. Your instructor will help you identify the right techniques for your specific problems and provide you with the skills to mend them yourselves. Clothing repair is an art not a science, enthusiasm and a few basic tools are all that is required. Please bring along clothing to be repaired and a few basic sewing supplies such as needles and thread, yarn for darning and fabric scraps for patches. Some supplies can be provided on the day but bring what you can.
