During this course…. During this upcoming eight week entry level course course students will: 1/ Learn to place and change first position chords 2/ Begin to form and master the most essential ‘bar chords’ in the most accessible way. 3/ Learn several different strums and picking patterns. 4/ Build a repertoire of songs you can accompany, including songs of your choice. 5/ Be shown good practice and laying habits and a useful all-round finger exercise. 6/ Begin reading tablature notation and play a good sounding instrumental piece 7/ Be taught the use of a capo and the most effective way to use a pick. 8/ Learn some little tricks to make your playing sound professional. You will also, through playing regularly with others each week, develop your timing and rapport with other musicians, essential skills required for being in a band. Students who’ve taken this approach have successfully gone from not being able to play at all to becoming a musician.
